Melika has owned and worked at the Oasis for the last eleven years. Prior to owning the gym she managed Main Street Fitness where she met her husband Anthony. This is where she started personal training for a number of years and eventually ended up working at and then owning Oasis. A lot has changed over the years, she welcomed Mia now 11 , and Riley now 9, into her and Anthony’s life. In 2015, Melika joined teams with Kaia FIT and incoporated that as another option for the women in the community. Fitness has been an important part of her life ever since she was a teenager. Sports and working out became a daily lifestyle. After playing volleyball with a full scholarship in college, Melika still tries to help out with the local volleyball teams. Melika is certified through Apex, NASM, ACE, TRX and is a Kaia coach and Flow certified, and also has a nutritional science degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Let her help you make fitness part of your life.
I was born and raised in Woodland. I am a Firefighter for Sac County and work at the airport. I have two children with my wonderful wife Melika, named Mia and Riley. Long before I met my wife and started my family, exercise has been a large part of my life. As a young athlete I played on several championship baseball teams. These experiences taught me how to compete and were also when I began my informal education about diet and exercise. As my baseball days ended, my resistance training became more intense. I am passionate about fitness the same way I was passionate about sports. What better way to share my passion than to help others achieve their fitness goals? What I needed was some form of formal training and I got that when I became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. I am also certified in TRX which has been my focus here at the Oasis. I believe that we should all strive to be better every day in both our personal lives and with exercise, and I hope to bring that attitude here to Oasis.

After just one Kaia workout she was hooked! Her love for Kaia evolved into becoming a KAT girl and then a Coach/Kaia Manager in 2013. She just moved to the Woodland area and is a full time speech therapist, but loves her workouts so much, she makes time for coaching and working out.
